यस्तेषां तदवस्थानां द्रह्ेत पुरुषोडनृजु: । व्यक्ते स नरके मज्जेदगाधे विपुले5प्लवे,प्रभो! आज रातमें समस्त पांचाल कवच उतारकर निश्रिन्त हो मुर्दोके समान अचेत सो रहे होंगे। उस अवस्थामें जो क्रूर मनुष्य उनके साथ द्रोह करेगा, वह निश्चय ही नौकारहित अगाध एवं विशाल नरकके समुद्रमें डूब जायगा
yas teṣāṃ tad-avasthānāṃ drakṣet puruṣo 'nṛjuḥ | vyakte sa narake majjed agādhe vipule 'plave, prabho ||
Oh señor, si en esa condición—cuando yacen sin sospecha—un hombre cruel y torcido los mira con intención de traicionarlos y dañarlos, sin duda se hundirá en el infierno: un océano vasto y profundo, sin barca que lo salve.
कृप उवाच
The verse teaches that treacherously harming enemies who are helpless (asleep, unarmed, unsuspecting) violates dharma and leads to severe karmic consequence, symbolized as sinking into a vast, boatless ocean of hell.
Kṛpa warns his lord that the Pañcālas are likely sleeping at night after removing armor and becoming unwary; he cautions that betraying and attacking them in that state is a grievous adharma that condemns the perpetrator to hell.
