वैशम्पायन उवाच
Even amid crisis, decisions should be guided by comprehensive welfare (hita) for oneself and for the wider community; those regarded as wise or exalted are expected to deliberate carefully and offer counsel aligned with the common good.
The narrator reports a request directed to two revered, god-like figures: they are asked to consider the present situation and recommend the action that will best serve both the speakers’ side and the people at large.
