त॑ चिन्तयानमासीन धृतराष्ट्र जनेश्वरम् । निःश्वसन्तमनेकाग्रमिति होवाच संजय:,महाराज धुृतराष्ट्रको लंबी साँस खींचते और उद्विग्नचित्त होकर चिन्तामें डूबे हुए देख संजयने इस प्रकार कहा
taṁ cintayānam āsīnaṁ dhṛtarāṣṭraṁ janeśvaram | niḥśvasantam anekāgram iti hovāca sañjayaḥ ||
Al ver al rey Dhṛtarāṣṭra—señor de los hombres—sentado y hundido en la ansiedad, exhalando largos suspiros e incapaz de aquietar la mente, Sañjaya le habló con estas palabras.
वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse highlights the ethical weight of kingship: inner agitation and troubled breathing signal a conscience under strain. It frames the need for wise counsel and self-control when power is entangled with attachment and fear.
Vaiśampāyana narrates that Sañjaya observes Dhṛtarāṣṭra seated in deep worry, sighing and mentally unsettled, and then begins to address him.
