Śiśupāla-nigraha-prastāva: Yudhiṣṭhira’s Conciliation and Bhīṣma’s Defense of Kṛṣṇa
Book 2, Chapter 35
The verse highlights that dharma is expressed through humble service and honoring the worthy; even the greatest person demonstrates ethical leadership by personally serving Brāhmaṇas, which is praised as yielding supreme merit.
In a public gathering, Kṛṣṇa—surrounded by the assembled people—personally washes the Brāhmaṇas’ feet, intending to please everyone and to model reverence and service as a virtuous act.
