Dijo Vaiśaṃpāyana: Aferrando con la mano una pierna de su adversario, el poderoso Bhīma—apoyando su pie sobre la otra—lo desgarró en dos pedazos. La escena subraya la brutalidad extrema del combate cuando se derrumba toda contención y la fuerza se emplea sólo para aniquilar al enemigo.

The verse highlights how unchecked rage and the momentum of enmity can drive actions to extreme violence; it invites reflection on the ethical cost of vengeance and the fragility of restraint (dama) even among the powerful.
In the course of a violent confrontation, Bhīma physically overpowers his opponent by gripping one leg, bracing the other with his foot, and splitting him into two—an emphatic depiction of Bhīma’s famed strength and ferocity.
