यात्राकालस्य योग्यानि कर्माणि गरुडथ्वज: । कर्तुकाम: शुचिर्भूत्वा स्नातवान् समलंकृत:,तदनन्तर गरुडध्वज श्रीकृष्णने यात्राकालोचित कर्म करनेके लिये पवित्र हो स्नान करके अलंकार धारण किया
Vaiśampāyana uvāca | yātrākālasya yogyāni karmāṇi garuḍadhvajaḥ | kartukāmaḥ śucirbhūtvā snātavān samalaṅkṛtaḥ ||
Vaiśaṃpāyana dijo: Kṛṣṇa, el de estandarte de Garuḍa, deseoso de cumplir los deberes propios del momento de partir, se purificó, se bañó y luego se engalanó. El relato subraya que incluso los grandes dirigentes inician las empresas importantes con limpieza, autodisciplina y la observancia de los ritos convenientes.
वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse highlights dhārmic propriety: before beginning an important undertaking (like a journey), one should observe appropriate duties—purification, bathing, and orderly preparation—showing respect for time, context, and disciplined conduct.
Vaiśampāyana narrates that Śrī Kṛṣṇa (called Garuḍadhvaja) prepares to depart by performing the customary, time-appropriate observances: he becomes purified, bathes, and adorns himself, indicating readiness for the forthcoming action.
