Jarā’s Account and the Enthronement of Jarāsandha (जरासंधोत्पत्तिः अभिषेकश्च)

अनयस्यानुपायस्य संयुगे परम: क्षय: । संशयो जायते साम्याज्जयश्व न भवेद्‌ द्वयो:,जिसने अच्छी नीति नहीं अपनायी है और उत्तम उपायसे काम नहीं लिया है, उसका युद्धमें सर्वया विनाश होता है। यदि दोनों पक्षोंमें समानता हो तो संशय ही रहता है तथा दोनोंमेंसे किसीकी भी जय अथवा पराजय नहीं होती

anasyānupāyasya saṁyuge paramaḥ kṣayaḥ | saṁśayo jāyate sāmyāj jayaś ca na bhaved dvayoḥ ||

Quien entra en batalla sin buena política y sin un medio adecuado para el éxito halla la ruina total en la guerra. Y cuando ambos bandos están igualados, sólo nace la incertidumbre: no puede decirse que uno alcance una victoria clara ni que el otro sufra una derrota definitiva.
