Deliberation on the Rajasuya and the Summoning of Kṛṣṇa
The verse highlights the disciplined transmission of itihāsa: a sage delivers counsel or narrative to rightful hearers and then withdraws, underscoring restraint, authority of testimony, and the role of sages in guiding kings and heroes toward dharma.
After speaking to the Pāṇḍavas, Nārada leaves, accompanied and surrounded by the same group of sages who had come with him, as Vaiśampāyana reports this to King Janamejaya.
