प्रेक्षतस्त्वेव पार्थस्य वृष्ण्यन्धकवरस्त्रिय: । जग्मुरादाय ते म्लेच्छा: समन््ताज्जनमेजय,जनमेजय! अर्जुन देखते ही रह गये और वे म्लेच्छ डाकू सब ओरसे वृष्णि और अन्धकवंशकी सुन्दरी स्त्रियोंको लूट ले गये
prekṣatastv eva pārthasya vṛṣṇyandhakavarastriyaḥ | jagmur ādāya te mlecchāḥ samantāj janamejaya ||
Vaiśampāyana dijo: Aun mientras Pārtha (Arjuna) miraba, las nobles mujeres de los Vṛṣṇis y los Andhakas fueron apresadas y llevadas por aquellos saqueadores mleccha que acudieron desde todos los flancos—oh Janamejaya. La escena subraya el amargo desenlace tras la destrucción de los Yādavas: cuando se derrumban el poder protector y el orden colectivo, los vulnerables padecen, y ni la presencia de un gran héroe puede impedir las consecuencias del tiempo y del destino.
