The Birth of the Musala and the Sages’ Pronouncement

When collective conduct declines and destiny ripens, even ordinary supports of life (like food) become corrupted; the verse presents a moral-cosmic warning that adharma manifests outwardly as disorder and loss of auspiciousness.
As ominous signs arise, food that has been carefully cooked and seasoned in the kitchens becomes infested with worms at the time of serving, indicating an inauspicious turn and foreshadowing impending calamity.
