अध्याय ९ — कर्णस्य प्रहारः, योधयुग्मनियोजनम्, शैनेय-कैकेययोर्युद्धविन्यासः

मम पुत्र: सभां भार्या पाण्डूनां नीतवान्‌ बलात्‌ | तत्रापि च सभामध्ये पाण्डवानां च पश्यताम्‌

mama putraḥ sabhāṃ bhāryā pāṇḍūnāṃ nītavān balāt | tatrāpi ca sabhāmadhye pāṇḍavānāṃ ca paśyatām

Vaiśampāyana dijo: «Mi hijo, por la fuerza, llevó a la esposa de los Pāṇḍava a la asamblea—allí mismo, en medio de la corte, mientras los propios Pāṇḍava lo contemplaban.»
