शराभिघाताच्च रुषा च राजन् स्वया च भासास्त्रसमीरणाच्च । जज्वाल कर्णस्य सुतो$तिमात्र- मिद्धो यथा5<5ज्याहुतिभि्ुताश:
śarābhighātāc ca ruṣā ca rājan svayā ca bhāsāstrasamīraṇāc ca | jajvāla karṇasya suto'timātram iddho yathā ghṛtāhutibhir hutāśaḥ ||
Sañjaya dijo: Oh rey, herido por descargas de flechas e inflamado por la ira—avivada aún más por el fulgor de su propia gloria y por el ímpetu de los conjuros de las armas—el hijo de Karṇa ardió en extremo, como un fuego encendido en lo alto por ofrendas de ghee.
