The verse highlights how attachment and anger—especially after a loved one’s death—can drive warriors into uncompromising violence. It implicitly warns that rage, even when framed as valor, can eclipse discernment and deepen the cycle of retaliation.
Sañjaya reports to Dhṛtarāṣṭra that ten powerful Kaurava fighters surge forward and overwhelm Bhīma by raining arrows upon him, intensifying the battle after the killing of Duḥśāsana.
