hīnā sūryendunakṣatrair dyaur ivā bhāti bhāratī |
Dijo Sañjaya: Privado de sol, luna y estrellas, el cielo pierde su esplendor; así también se muestra ahora la hueste kaurava: sus guerreros más eminentes han sido destruidos, y sus caballos, carros y elefantes han caído, despojada de dignidad y de brillo por la ruina moral y material que deja una guerra implacable.
