Shloka 17

दृष्टवा पार्थ तथा यान्तं चिन्तापरिगतं तदा । रथमें बैठकर चलते समय गाण्डीवधारी अर्जुनको चिन्तामग्न देख भगवान्‌ श्रीकृष्णने उनसे इस प्रकार कहा ।।

dṛṣṭvā pārthaṃ tathā yāntaṃ cintāparigataṃ tadā | ratham āruhya yāntaṃ gāṇḍīvadhāriṇaṃ arjunaṃ cintāmagnaṃ dṛṣṭvā bhagavān śrīkṛṣṇas tam evam uvāca || (atra pāṭhe anyāni vākya-khaṇḍāni saṅkīrṇāni dṛśyante: ‘vāyudeva uvāca’, ‘gāṇḍīvadhanvan saṅgrāme ye tvayā dhanuṣā jitāḥ’, ‘prayāhi śīghraṃ govinda sūtaputra-jighāṃsayā’ iti)

Dijo Sañjaya: Al ver a Arjuna, el portador del Gāṇḍīva, ponerse en marcha con el ánimo oprimido por la inquietud, el Señor Śrī Kṛṣṇa le habló de este modo. Luego el pasaje se vuelve un mandato enérgico: preparar el carro—uncir de nuevo los mejores caballos, disponer en el gran carro toda clase de armas—y partir sin demora con la resolución de dar muerte al “hijo del auriga” (Karna).
