अक्षेषु दोषा बहवो विधर्मा: श्रुतास्त्वया सहदेवो<ब्रवीद् यान् । तान् नैषि त्वं त्यक्तुमसाधुजुष्टां- स्तेन सम सर्वे निरयं प्रपन्ना:,जूआ खेलनेमें बहुत-से पापमय दोष बताये गये हैं, जिन्हें सहदेवने तुझसे कहा था और तूने सुना भी था, तो भी तू उन दुर्जनसेवित दोषोंका परित्याग न कर सका; इसीसे हम सब लोग नरकतुल्य कष्टमें पड़ गये

akṣeṣu doṣā bahavo vidharmāḥ śrutās tvayā sahadevo 'bravīd yān |
tān naiṣi tvaṃ tyaktum asādhu-juṣṭāṃs tena sma sarve nirayaṃ prapannāḥ ||
Arjuna dijo: «En el juego hay muchas faltas pecaminosas, actos contrarios al dharma, que Sahadeva te expuso y que tú escuchaste. Sin embargo, no pudiste abandonar esos vicios, frecuentados por los malvados. Por eso, todos hemos caído en una miseria semejante al infierno».
