(The Fall of Vṛṣasena) — Karṇa Parva, Adhyāya 62
tathā rādheya kriyatāṃ rājā mucyeta no yathā | bhīmasena rājā duryodhanena sārdhaṃ yuddhaṃ karoti | rādhānandana! asmākaṃ sarveṣāṃ paśyatāṃ paśyatām adya bhīmasenaḥ yathā taṃ na mārayet, tathā prayatnaṃ kuru | yathā kathaṃcid asmākaṃ rājñaḥ bhīmasenāt chutkāro bhavitum eva yogyam |

In the midst of war, counsel emphasizes immediate duty and strategic effort: protect the leader (the king) and prevent an irreversible act (Bhīma killing Duryodhana). The passage highlights loyalty and responsibility under pressure, where ethical focus narrows to safeguarding one’s side and preventing catastrophic loss.
Sañjaya urges Karṇa (addressed as Rādheya/Rādhānandana) to intervene in the duel where Bhīma is fighting Duryodhana, and to ensure—before everyone’s eyes—that Bhīma does not kill Duryodhana, rescuing the Kaurava king by any possible means.
