Arjuna Breaks the Encirclement; Bhīma Reinforces
एष सर्वात्मना पाणए्डूंसत्रासयित्वा महारणे । अभिभाष ति राधेय: सर्वसैन्यानि मानद,“मानद! यह राधापुत्र कर्ण महासमरमें पाण्डव-सैनिकोंको सर्वधा भयभीत करके अपनी सम्पूर्ण सेनाओंसे इस प्रकार कह रहा है
sañjaya uvāca | eṣa sarvātmanā pāṇḍūn trāsayitvā mahāraṇe | abhibhāṣati rādhēyaḥ sarvasainyāni mānada ||
Dijo Sañjaya: «¡Oh tú que honras a los hombres! Rādheya (Karṇa), hijo de Rādhā, tras aterrorizar por completo a los Pāṇḍavas en la gran batalla, se dirige ahora a todas las divisiones de su ejército, con palabras que los animan y los enaltecen».
संजय उवाच
The verse highlights a warrior-leader’s duty in battle: after demonstrating prowess, he must steady and motivate his forces through commanding speech—linking personal valor with responsibility toward one’s army (a facet of kṣatriya-dharma).
Sañjaya reports that Karna has shaken the Pāṇḍava side in the fighting and is now turning to address the entire Kaurava host, preparing them with words of encouragement and direction for the continuing combat.
