vihvalaṃ taṃ tu vīkṣyātha droṇaputraṃ ca sārathiḥ | apovāha rathenājau tvaramāṇo raṇājirāt ||
Sañjaya dijo: Al ver al hijo de Droṇa aturdido y abatido, su auriga, apresurándose, apartó el carro del campo de batalla y lo sacó del fragor del combate.
संजय उवाच
Even in war, dharma includes discerning when force must yield to protection: a charioteer’s responsibility is not merely to advance the fight but to safeguard the warrior when he is mentally or physically overwhelmed.
Sañjaya reports that Droṇa’s son (Aśvatthāmā) becomes distressed; seeing this, his charioteer quickly drives the chariot away, withdrawing him from the battlefield.
