वैदूर्यदण्डांश्व शुभान् पतितानड्कुशान् भुवि । बद्धा: सादिभुजाग्रेषु सुवर्णविकृता: कशा:
sañjaya uvāca
vaidūryadaṇḍāṁś ca śubhān patitān aṅkuśān bhuvi |
baddhāḥ sādibhuja-agreṣu suvarṇa-vikṛtāḥ kaśāḥ ||
Sañjaya dijo: «En el suelo yacían muchos aguijones finos, con mangos engastados de gemas vaidūrya. Y muchos látigos labrados en oro—que antes se apretaban junto a las manos de los jinetes—habían sido cercenados y caído. La escena muestra cómo los instrumentos de control y mando en la guerra también se quiebran, señalando el derrumbe del orden en medio de la violencia.»
