Karṇa’s concentrated assault and the Pāṇḍava encirclement

The verse highlights how collective resolve and allegiance propel armies into action; ethically, it reflects the Mahābhārata’s recurring tension between personal discernment and the momentum of kṣatriya warfare, where duty and loyalty can intensify conflict even when the broader consequences are tragic.
After a prior statement or command, the Kaurava forces advance together to attack the sons of Kuntī (the Pāṇḍavas). The Pāṇḍavas respond immediately with a counter-charge, and the battle becomes mutually engaged with both sides rushing at each other.
