न च कर्ण रणे शक्ता जेतुमन्ये महारथा: । जानीते हि भवान् कर्ण वीर्यवन्तं पराक्रमे,“जनार्दन! आप तो जानते ही हैं कि कर्ण कितना बलवान् तथा पराक्रम प्रकट करनेमें समर्थ है। अतः रणभूमिमें दूसरे महारथी उसे जीत नहीं सकते हैं
na ca karṇa raṇe śaktā jetum anye mahārathāḥ | jānīte hi bhavān karṇa vīryavantaṃ parākrame ||
Sañjaya dijo: «Tampoco los demás grandes guerreros de carro son capaces de vencer a Karṇa en batalla. Tú, oh Janārdana, sabes bien cuán poderoso es Karṇa y cuán apto para desplegar su valor. Por eso, en el campo de guerra, los otros maharathas no pueden superarlo».
संजय उवाच
The verse underscores sober discernment in war: one must assess strength and capability realistically rather than relying on wishful thinking. It also highlights how extraordinary prowess can shift the balance of conflict, demanding humility and strategic clarity.
Sanjaya addresses Krishna (Janardana), emphasizing that Karna’s martial power is so formidable that other leading warriors are not able to defeat him in open battle, framing Karna as a decisive force on the battlefield.
