Even amid a destructive conflict, the highest ethical orientation is not mere triumph but the welfare (svasti) of all beings. The Siddhas and Cāraṇas embody an ideal of auspicious, universal-minded intention that stands above factional hatred.
Sañjaya reports that celestial groups—Siddhas and Cāraṇas—arrive from all directions at the scene and, as witnesses, contemplate and express a wish that the day may bring well-being to all the worlds.
