Yudhiṣṭhira’s Reproach to Dhanaṃjaya
आरोप्यारोप्य गच्छन्ति विमानेष्वप्सरोगणा: । वीरोंके द्वारा सम्मुख लड़कर मारे गये लाखों वीरोंको अप्सराएँ विमानोंपर बिठा- बिठाकर स्वर्गलोकमें ले जाती थीं
āropyāropyā gacchanti vimāneṣv apsarogaṇāḥ |
Dijo Sañjaya: Las huestes de apsaras, alzándolos una y otra vez, llevaban a los héroes caídos en carros celestiales hacia el cielo: innumerables guerreros que habían sido abatidos cara a cara en combate valeroso. La escena presenta la muerte en la guerra justa como un tránsito a mundos más altos, honra el coraje y, a la vez, subraya el inmenso costo humano de la guerra.
