स्थितानभिमुखान् घोरानन्योन्यमभिभाषत: । “देखो, सहस्रों घोर कंक और गीध एकत्र होकर सामने खड़े हैं और आपसमें कुछ बोल भी रहे हैं ।। र|ज्जिताश्चामरा युक्तास्तव कर्ण महारथे,प्रवरा: प्रज्वलन्त्येते ध्वजश्नैव प्रकम्पते । “कर्ण! तुम्हारे विशाल रथमें बँधे हुए ये रंगीन और श्रेष्ठ चँवर सहसा प्रज्वलित हो उठे हैं और तुम्हारी ध्वजा भी जोर-जोरसे हिलने लगी है
sañjaya uvāca |
sthitān abhimukhān ghorān anyonyam abhibhāṣataḥ |
"dekho, sahasroṃ ghora kaṅka aur gīdha ekatra hokar sāmane khaṛe haiṃ aur āpas meṃ kuch bol bhī rahe haiṃ" ||
rajjitāś ca āmara-yuktās tava karṇa mahā-rathe |
pravarāḥ prajvalanty ete dhvajaś caiva prakampate |
"karṇa! tumhāre viśāl ratha meṃ baṃdhe hue ye raṅgīn aur śreṣṭha cāṃvara sahasā prajvalit ho uṭhe haiṃ aur tumhārī dhvajā bhī jor-jor se hilne lagī hai" ||
Sañjaya dijo: «Mirad: terribles garzas y buitres, por miles, se han reunido y están de frente, llamándose unos a otros. Y, oh Karṇa, en tu gran carro los espléndidos y vistosos abanicos de cola de yak (cāmara) parecen encenderse de pronto como si ardieran, mientras tu estandarte tiembla con violencia».
