Chapter 45
चक्रनेमिप्रणुन्नेव कम्पते कर्ण मेदिनी । “कर्ण! यह ऊपर उठी हुई धूल आकाशको आच्छादित करके स्थित हो रही है और यह पृथ्वी अर्जुनके रथके पहियोंद्वारा संचालित-सी होकर काँपने लगी है
cakranemipraṇunneva kampate karṇa medinī |
Sañjaya dijo: «Oh Karna, el polvo levantado en lo alto se ha extendido y permanece como un velo que cubre el cielo; y la tierra tiembla como si la impulsaran los bordes de las ruedas del carro de Arjuna.»
संजय उवाच
The verse underscores how overwhelming force and momentum in war can appear as cosmic disturbance—suggesting that human actions (especially in adharma-saturated conflict) reverberate through the natural world, functioning as omens that intensify moral and psychological pressure on the warriors.
Sañjaya reports to Karṇa that Arjuna’s chariot is advancing with such speed and power that its wheels seem to make the earth quake, while the dust thrown up rises and blankets the sky—an image of impending clash and the terrifying scale of the battle.
