कर्णभीमसमागमः | Karṇa–Bhīma Encounter
एष सारशथ्यमातिष्ठे राधेयस्य यशस्विन: । युध्यत: पाण्डवाग्रयेण यथा त्वं वीर मन््यसे,वीर! मैं यशस्वी राधापुत्र कर्णका पाण्डवशिरोमणि अर्जुनके साथ युद्ध करते समय सारथ्य करूँगा जैसा कि तुम चाहते हो
eṣa sāraśathyam ātiṣṭhe rādheyasya yaśasvinaḥ | yudhyataḥ pāṇḍavāgrayena yathā tvaṃ vīra manyase ||
Śalya dijo: «Asumiré el oficio de auriga del ilustre Rādheya (Karna) mientras combate contra el más destacado de los Pāṇḍavas (Arjuna), exactamente como tú, oh héroe, lo deseas».
शल्य उवाच
The verse highlights the acceptance of a defined role in war: Śalya consents to undertake the charioteer’s duty for Karna in accordance with the warrior’s wish, underscoring obligation, consent, and the ethics of fulfilling an assigned function in a larger conflict.
Śalya responds to Karna’s request/expectation by agreeing to serve as his charioteer during the decisive combat against Arjuna, identified as the foremost among the Pāṇḍavas.
