कर्णेन युधिष्ठिरानीकविदारणम् / Karṇa’s Breach of Yudhiṣṭhira’s Battle-Line
ततः स भगवान् देवो लोकस्त्रष्टा पितामह:,(एवमुक्त्वा जटाभारं संयम्य प्रपितामह: । परिधायाजिन गाढं संन्यस्य च कमण्डलुम् ।।
tataḥ sa bhagavān devo lokasraṣṭā pitāmahaḥ | (evam uktvā jaṭābhāraṃ saṃyamya prapitāmahaḥ | paridhāyājinaṃ gāḍhaṃ saṃnyasya ca kamaṇḍalum || pratodapāṇir bhagavān āruroha rathaṃ tadā |)
Entonces aquel dios bienaventurado—el Abuelo venerable, creador de los mundos—tras decirlo así, recogió y ató el pesado haz de sus cabellos enmarañados. Ajustó con firmeza su vestidura de piel de ciervo y apartó su jarro de agua; luego el venerable Prāpitāmaha, con el látigo en la mano, montó de inmediato en el carro.
पितामह उवाच
Even a figure marked by renunciation (deerskin, water-pot, matted locks) may set aside ascetic emblems and take up instruments of action when the maintenance of order and duty requires decisive intervention.
Brahmā, addressed as the world-creator and grandsire, finishes speaking, binds his matted hair, tightens his deerskin garment, sets aside his kamaṇḍalu, takes a whip, and mounts a chariot—signaling immediate readiness to act.
