कर्णेन युधिष्ठिरानीकविदारणम् / Karṇa’s Breach of Yudhiṣṭhira’s Battle-Line
ततःप्रभृति भद्रं ते गवां द्वैधीकृता: खुरा: । हयानां च सतना राजंस्तदाप्रभूति नाभवन्
tataḥprabhṛti bhadraṃ te gavāṃ dvaidhīkṛtāḥ khurāḥ | hayānāṃ ca satanā rājan tadāprabhūti nābhavan |
Desde entonces—que te sea propicio—las pezuñas del ganado quedaron hendidas; y, oh rey, desde aquel tiempo los caballos ya no tuvieron pezuñas sólidas e indivisas. Con ello se señala una alteración perdurable del orden natural, como si los actos y las condiciones cósmicas dejaran huellas permanentes en el mundo.
