प्रेषषामास राजेन्द्र ते5स्या भ्रश्यन्त वर्मण: । राजेन्द्र! फिर सोनेकी पाँखवाले नब्बे पैने बाण उसने चलाये, परंतु वे कृतवर्माके कवचसे फिसलकर गिर गये
sañjaya uvāca | preṣayāmāsa rājendra te ’syā bhraśyanta varmaṇaḥ |
Sañjaya dijo: Oh rey, disparó aquellas flechas; pero resbalaron por su armadura y cayeron. En el fragor de la batalla, la destreza del guerrero se enfrenta a la protección ganada por la preparación y la firmeza, de modo que incluso una descarga feroz puede fracasar cuando tropieza con una defensa sólida.
