Adhyāya 113: Karṇa–Bhīma Śaravarṣa and the Battlefield Aftermath (कर्णभीमशरवर्षः)

A ruler must deliberate with clear judgment between competing duties—personal safety, protection of the army’s command center, and urgent coordination with key warriors. Yudhiṣṭhira models responsible decision-making: he weighs options, assigns protection to the capable (Bhīma), and prioritizes timely support to Arjuna.
In the midst of the Drona Parva battle, Yudhiṣṭhira addresses a person he can dispatch. He considers whether to keep that person for his own protection or send them to Arjuna. He decides that Bhīma will guard him, and instructs the person to prepare and go to wherever Arjuna has gone.
