महाव्यूहप्रवर्तनम् / Deployment of the Great Battle Arrays
आपकी सेनाओंके सेनापति अस्त्र-शस्त्रोंके ज्ञाता एवं नरवीर योद्धा थे। उनसे विधिपूर्वक अनुशासित हो रथसमूह
nānāraṅgāḥ samare tatra rājan meghairyutā vidyutaḥ khe yathaiva | vandaiḥ sthitāścāpi susamprayuktāḥ śaśakāśire dantigaṇāḥ samantāt ||
Dijo Sañjaya: «Oh Rey, los jefes de tus ejércitos eran héroes, conocedores de armas y astras. Bajo su disciplina, cuando los grupos de carros, infantería, elefantes y caballos comenzaron a avanzar hacia el campo de batalla, el polvo levantado por sus pasos cubrió los rayos del sol y pareció resplandecer como el fulgor del sol matutino. Las banderas alzadas sobre carros y elefantes, agitadas por el viento, embellecían el contorno. Y, oh Rey, como relámpagos que centellean en el cielo entre bancos de nubes, así en aquel campo de guerra, por todas partes, manadas de elefantes de muchos colores permanecían en pie, espléndidas; bien dispuestas y diestramente dirigidas.»
