śikhaṇḍī saha matsyena virāṭena viśāmpate |
bhīṣmam āśu maheṣvāsam āsasāda sudurjayam ||
Sañjaya dijo: Oh señor de los pueblos (rey Dhritarashtra), Shikhandi, junto con Virata, rey de los Matsyas, avanzó con presteza contra Bhishma, el gran arquero, dificilísimo de vencer, llevando la batalla hacia su encuentro más feroz y decisivo.
