पूर्वाह्नि तन्महारीद्रं राज्ञां युद्धमवर्तत । कुरूणां पाण्डवानां च मुख्यशूरविनाशनम्,पूर्वाह्नकालमें कौरव-पाण्डव नरेशोंका वह महा-भयंकर युद्ध आरम्भ हुआ, जो बड़े- बड़े शूरवीरोंका विनाश करनेवाला था
pūrvāhṇi tan-mahārīdraṃ rājñāṃ yuddham avartata | kurūṇāṃ pāṇḍavānāṃ ca mukhya-śūra-vināśanam ||
Sañjaya dijo: En la mañana, comenzó aquella batalla sumamente terrible de los reyes—entre los Kurus y los Pāṇḍavas—un choque destinado a destruir a muchos de los héroes más eminentes.
