Duryodhana dijo: «Abuelo, Vāsudeva (Śrī Kṛṣṇa) es proclamado en todos los mundos como un ser grande y extraordinario. Por ello deseo conocer su origen y el fundamento de su grandeza establecida.»
दुर्योधन उवाच
The verse frames a dharmic mode of inquiry: true greatness (pratiṣṭhā) invites examination of its source (āgama). Even amid the war setting, the text foregrounds Kṛṣṇa’s supra-human stature and the legitimacy of seeking to understand the grounds of spiritual and moral authority.
At the opening of the chapter, Duryodhana addresses Bhīṣma as ‘Grandfather’ and asks him to explain Kṛṣṇa—widely acclaimed across the worlds—specifically requesting an account of Kṛṣṇa’s origin/advent and the basis of his established eminence.
