मूर्च्याभिपरीतात्मा ध्वजरयष्टिं समाश्रयत् । राजा भगदत्तसे इस प्रकार अत्यन्त घायल किये गये महाधनुर्धर महारथी भीमसेनने मूच्छसे व्याप्त हो ध्वजका डंडा थाम लिया

Dijo Sañjaya: Vencido por el desmayo, con la conciencia nublada, se aferró al asta del estandarte para sostenerse. Incluso Bhimasena, gran arquero y el más señalado de los guerreros de carro, herido de gravedad por el rey Bhagadatta en el fragor del combate, quedó invadido por el vahído y tuvo que asirse a aquel mástil.
