The Tumult of Battle Described
द्रौपदेयाइभिमन्युश्न शिखण्डी चापराजित: । न प्राजहन् भीमसेनं भये जाते महाबलम्,उस महान् भयंकर तथा अत्यन्त दारुण भयके समय महाबली भीमसेनको उनके भाई, पुत्र, ट्रुपदकुमार धृष्टद्युम्न, द्रौपदीके पाँचों पुत्र, अभिमन्यु और अपराजित वीर शिखण्डी-- ये कोई भी छोड़कर नहीं गये
drauṇḍeyā abhimanyuś ca śikhaṇḍī cāparājitaḥ | na prājahur bhīmasenaṁ bhaye jāte mahābalam ||
Dijo Sañjaya: Cuando surgió aquel gran y pavoroso temor, ni Dhṛṣṭadyumna, ni los cinco hijos de Draupadī, ni Abhimanyu, ni el héroe invicto Śikhaṇḍī abandonaron al poderosísimo Bhīmasena.
संजय उवाच
In moments of extreme danger, dharmic conduct is shown by steadfastness—standing by one’s companions rather than abandoning them out of fear. The verse highlights loyalty and collective courage as ethical strengths in war.
Sañjaya reports that during a terrifying phase of battle, Bhīma’s close allies—Dhṛṣṭadyumna, the Draupadeyas, Abhimanyu, and Śikhaṇḍī—did not leave him; they remained with him despite the fear and turmoil.
