राजन! तब लक्ष्मणने भी पुन: एक बाण मारकर उसके धनुषको, जहाँ मुट्ठी रखी जाती है, वहींसे काट दिया। यह देख आपके सैनिक हर्षसे कोलाहल कर उठे ।। तद् विहाय धनुश्कछिन्नं सौभद्र: परवीरहा । अन्यदादत्तवांक्षित्रं कार्मुकं वेगवत्तरम्,शत्रुवीरोंका संहार करनेवाले सुभद्राकुमारने उस कटे हुए धनुषको फेंककर दूसरा विचित्र धनुष हाथमें लिया, जो अत्यन्त वेगशाली था
rājan! tataḥ lakṣmaṇena api punaḥ eka-bāṇaṃ muktvā tasya dhanuḥ yatra muṣṭiḥ nidhīyate tatraiva chittvā pātitam. tad dṛṣṭvā tava sainikāḥ harṣeṇa kolāhalaṃ cakruḥ. tad vihāya dhanuś-chinnaṃ saubhadraḥ paravīra-hā anyad ādatta vicitraṃ kārmukaṃ vegavattaram.
Dijo Sañjaya: Oh Rey, entonces Lakṣmaṇa volvió a soltar una sola flecha y cortó el arco de su adversario justo en la empuñadura. Al verlo, tus soldados alzaron un clamor jubiloso. Arrojando el arco cercenado, Saubhadra —matador de campeones enemigos— tomó otro arco espléndido, de impulso aún más veloz.
