शक्ति विनिहतां दृष्टवा धृष्टद्युम्न: प्रतापवान् । ववर्ष शरवर्षाणि द्रोणं प्रति जनेश्वर,जनेश्वर! अपनी शक्तिको नष्ट हुई देख प्रतापी धृष्टद्युम्नने द्रोणाचार्यपर पुनः बाणोंकी वर्षा आस्मभ कर दी
sañjaya uvāca | śaktiṁ vinihatāṁ dṛṣṭvā dhṛṣṭadyumnaḥ pratāpavān | vavarṣa śaravarṣāṇi droṇaṁ prati janeśvara ||
Dijo Sañjaya: Al ver que su arma de lanza (śakti) había quedado inútil, el valeroso Dhrishtadyumna, oh señor de los hombres, desató de nuevo una tormenta de flechas contra Droṇa, impulsado por una resolución férrea y por el implacable ímpetu de la batalla.
