Droṇa–Dhṛṣṭadyumna-yuddha (द्रोण-धृष्टद्युम्न-युद्धम्) — Tactical duel and allied interventions

The verse underscores a battlefield ethic of kṣatriya conduct where skill and strategy matter: stopping a powerful foe through disciplined missile-fire is a legitimate expression of martial prowess, aiming to control the flow of combat rather than merely seeking reckless advance.
Sañjaya reports to Dhṛtarāṣṭra that Suśarmā confronts Cekitāna in the fight and prevents him from pressing forward by unleashing an intense barrage of arrows, effectively checking his movement in the engagement.
