महर्षय: सप्त पूर्वे चत्वारोी35 मनवस्तथा । मद्धभावा मानसा जाता येषां लोक इमा: प्रजा:,सात महर्षिजन,* चार उनसे भी पूर्वमें होनेवाले सनकादि तथा स्वायम्भुव आदि चौदह मनुर--ये मुझमें भाववाले सब-के-सब मेरे संकल्पसे उत्पन्न हुए हैं, जिनकी संसारमें यह सम्पूर्ण प्रजा है

arjuna uvāca | maharṣayaḥ sapta pūrve catvāro manavas tathā | madbhāvā mānasā jātā yeṣāṁ loka imāḥ prajāḥ ||

Arjuna dijo: Los siete grandes rishis, y también los cuatro Manus de tiempos aún más antiguos —dotados de Mi propia naturaleza— nacieron de Mi mente y de Mi voluntad. De ellos ha surgido toda esta multitud de seres en el mundo.
