Devotion to the Personal vs. Contemplation of the Imperishable
हे अर्जुन! उनके ऊपर अनुग्रह करनेके लिये उनके अन्तःकरणमें स्थित हुआ मैं स्वयं ही उनके अज्ञानजनित अन्धकारको प्रकाशमय तत्त्वज्ञानरूप दीपकके द्वारा नष्ट कर देता हूँ
teṣām evānukampārtham aham ajñānajaṁ tamaḥ | nāśayāmy ātma-bhāva-stho jñāna-dīpena bhāsvatā ||
Por compasión hacia ellos, Yo—morando en lo más íntimo de su ser—destruyo la oscuridad nacida de la ignorancia mediante la lámpara radiante del verdadero conocimiento. Éticamente, el verso presenta la transformación interior como gracia: lo Divino no sólo ordena la acción justa, sino que ilumina la conciencia desde dentro para que el discernimiento y el dharma sean posibles.
