Discipline of Meditation and Mental Restraint

यदृच्छाला भसंतुष्टो: द्वन्द्धातीतो विमत्सर: । सम: सिद्धावसिद्धौ च कृत्वापि न निबध्यते,जो बिना इच्छाके अपने-आप प्राप्त हुए पदार्थमें सदा संतुष्ट रहता है, जिसमें ईर्ष्याका सर्वथा अभाव हो गया है, जो हर्ष-शोक आदि द्वद्धोंसे सर्वथा अतीत हो गया है--ऐसा सिद्धि और असिद्धिमें सम रहनेवालाः कर्मयोगी कर्म करता हुआ भी उनसे नहीं बँधतारई

yadṛcchā-lābha-santuṣṭo dvandvātīto vimatsaraḥ | samaḥ siddhāv asiddhau ca kṛtvāpi na nibadhyate ||

Quien se contenta con lo que llega sin pedirlo, ha trascendido los pares de opuestos y está libre de envidia, y mantiene ecuanimidad en el éxito y el fracaso—ese practicante del karma‑yoga, aunque actúe, no queda atado por la acción. En el marco bélico del consejo de la Gītā, se describe la libertad interior necesaria para obrar rectamente sin ser movido por el ansia, la rivalidad o el temor al resultado.
