गजाश्व रथसड्घाश्न बहुधा रथिभिहता: । रथाश्ष निहता नागैहयाश्रैव पदातिभि:
gajāśva-ratha-saṅghāś ca bahudhā rathibhir hatāḥ | rathāś ca nihatā nāgair hayāś caiva padātibhiḥ ||
Sañjaya dijo: De muchas maneras, las masas de elefantes, caballos y formaciones de carros fueron abatidas por los guerreros de carro. Los carros fueron destrozados por los elefantes, y los soldados de a pie derribaron muchos caballos junto con sus jinetes—mostrando que, en la furia del combate, cada arma del ejército se volvía a la vez cazadora y presa.
