अपसय् ग्रहाश्चक्रुरलक्ष्माणं दिवाकरम् | अवाक्शिराश्न भगवानुपातिष्ठत चन्द्रमा:,“ग्रहोंने सूर्यकी वामावर्त परिक्रमा करके उन्हें अशुभ लक्षणोंका सूचक बना दिया है, भगवान् चन्द्रमा अपने दोनों कोनोंके सिरे नीचे करके उदित हुए हैं
sañjaya uvāca | apasavyaṃ grahāś cakrur alakṣmāṇaṃ divākaram | avākśirāś ca bhagavān upātiṣṭhata candramāḥ ||
Dijo Sañjaya: «Los planetas siguieron un curso hacia la izquierda (funesto) alrededor del Sol, marcándolo con señales ominosas; y la venerable Luna se alzó con sus cuernos vueltos hacia abajo: presagios de que el orden del dharma estaba siendo perturbado y de que la matanza venidera sería amarga y desdichada».
