तथा त्रीणि सहस्राणि त्रेतायां मनुजाधिप । दे सहस्रे द्वापरे तु भुवि तिष्ठति साम्प्रतम्
tathā trīṇi sahasrāṇi tretāyāṁ manujādhipa | dve sahasre dvāpare tu bhuvi tiṣṭhati sāmpratam || manujeśvara ||
Dijo Sañjaya: “Así se declara, oh señor de los hombres: en la era Tretā la vida humana es de tres mil años; en la era Dvāpara es de dos mil—y esa es la era que hoy permanece sobre la tierra.”
