Book 14, Chapter 89
पूजयित्वा महाराज यथाविधि महाद्युति: । भ्रातृभि: सहितो राजा प्रास्थापयदरिंदम:,महाराज! इसके बाद महात्मा भगवान् श्रीकृष्ण, महाबली बलदेव तथा प्रद्युम्म आदि अन्यान्य सहस्रों वृष्णिवीरोंकी विधिवत् पूजा करके भाइयोंसहित शत्रुदमन महातेजस्वी राजा युधिष्ठिरने उन सबको विदा किया
vaiśampāyana uvāca |
pūjayitvā mahārāja yathāvidhi mahādyutiḥ |
bhrātṛbhiḥ sahito rājā prāsthāpayad arindamaḥ ||
Vaiśaṃpāyana dijo: «Oh rey, después de honrarlos debidamente conforme al rito, el monarca resplandeciente —acompañado de sus hermanos— los despidió formalmente y los envió adelante». En tono ético, el verso destaca el dharma real: hospitalidad correcta, reverencia a los huéspedes dignos y una despedida ordenada tras la recepción reverente.
वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse underscores rāja-dharma through yathāvidhi (rule-governed) honor: a righteous king shows reverence, performs proper hospitality, and concludes relations with orderly, respectful leave-taking—ethics expressed as disciplined conduct rather than mere sentiment.
Vaiśampāyana narrates that the radiant king (Yudhiṣṭhira), together with his brothers, duly honored the departing party and then formally sent them on their way, marking a courteous conclusion to their visit.
