राजपूजाविधानम् / Royal Reception Protocols during Āśvamedha Preparations
ते व्यराजन्त राजर्षेवासोभिरुपशोभिता: । महेन्द्रानुगता देवा यथा सप्तर्षिभिर्दिवि,ठस्त्रोंद्रारा अलंकृत किये गये वे राजर्षि युधिष्ठिरके यज्ञ सम्बन्धी यूप आकाशमें सप्तर्षियोंसे घिरे हुए इन्द्रके अनुगामी देवताओंके समान शोभा पाते थे
te vyarājanta rājarṣaye vāsobhir upaśobhitāḥ | mahendrānugatā devā yathā saptarṣibhir divi ||
Vaiśampāyana dijo: «Adornados con vestiduras espléndidas, aquellos sabios regios resplandecían. Parecían los dioses que siguen a Mahendra (Indra) en el cielo, como si estuvieran rodeados por los Siete Rishis.»
वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse frames righteous kings and sages as radiant when aligned with dharma and sacred duty; their outer splendor (garments, ceremony) symbolizes inner order and legitimacy, likened to the harmonious retinue of Indra with the Saptarṣis in heaven.
During Yudhiṣṭhira’s sacrificial context (Aśvamedha setting), the assembled royal sages—well-adorned and dignified—are described as shining brilliantly, compared to Indra’s accompanying gods in heaven encircled by the Seven Seers.
