वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse highlights kṣatriya-dharma expressed as disciplined, purposeful action: Arjuna’s victories come through trained skill and steadfast resolve in carrying out the king’s wider political-religious undertaking (the Aśvamedha campaign), not through uncontrolled violence.
Vaiśaṃpāyana reports that during the campaign connected with the Aśvamedha, Arjuna travels through many regions and repeatedly defeats numerous armies of mleccha peoples using his famed bow, the Gāṇḍīva.
