त॑ं श्रुव्वा भृशसंतप्तं देवराजो बृहस्पतिम् | अधिगम्यामरवृत: प्रोवाचेदं वचस्तदा,देवराज इन्द्रने जब सुना कि बृहस्पतिजी अत्यन्त संतप्त हो रहे हैं, तब वे देवताओंको साथ लेकर उनके पास गये और इस प्रकार पूछने लगे
taṁ śrutvā bhṛśa-santaptaṁ devarājo bṛhaspatim | adhigamyāmaravṛtaḥ provācedaṁ vacas tadā ||
Al oír que Bṛhaspati, preceptor de los dioses, se hallaba hondamente afligido, Indra—señor de los dioses—fue a su encuentro, rodeado de los inmortales, y entonces le dirigió estas palabras.
